Description
Originally published in hard copy and digital pdf version in 2022 and updated in 2023, the guide set out the key challenges and opportunities that AI and automated decision-making presents for courts and tribunals, drawing on legislation, case law and rules in a range of jurisdictions.
The Guide is now a web-based resource presenting a digital overview of various AI and decision-making tools and raises the possible challenges and opportunities for our courts and tribunals. This new online version offers regular updates and improved ease of navigation to external links.
The resource provides different areas where AI can be used as well as how such tools can impact core judicial values of open justice, accountability and equality before the law, procedural fairness, access to justice, and efficiency. It poses questions to be considered by court managers and administers, judges, and tribunal members when contemplating the use of these technologies.
